Carroll County is located in the northwest region of the great state of Arkansas. Established on November 1, 1833, the county was named in honor of Charles Carroll, the last living signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Covering an area of approximately 639 square miles, it has two county seats, Berryville and Eureka Springs.

The region's early history is marked by the presence of the Osage tribe. In the early 1800s, white settlers began arriving, and by the mid-1800s, the area saw significant growth as a result of industries such as timber, agriculture, and tourism.

One of the unique features of Carroll County is the well-known Victorian resort village of Eureka Springs. Founded in 1879, the town quickly flourished due to the region's natural springs, which were believed to have healing properties. Eureka Springs remains a popular tourist destination to this day, with its picturesque downtown, historic architecture, and ongoing arts and cultural events.

A fun fact about the region is that the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, often called "America's Most Haunted Hotel," is famous for its alleged paranormal activity. It was built in 1886 as a resort for the rich and famous and has a storied past including stints as a college for young women and a cancer hospital. Ghost tours are offered at the hotel, attracting visitors who are interested in exploring its supernatural side.
