Linn County, located in the great state of Oregon, was established on December 28, 1847. Named after Senator Lewis F. Linn of Missouri, who was an advocate for the Oregon Territory, the county covers an area of approximately 2,299 square miles in the Willamette Valley region. Its county seat is the city of Albany, which is also the largest city in the county.

Much of Linn County's early history revolves around the establishment of settlements, as thousands of pioneers traveled the Oregon Trail to make their homes in the fertile Willamette Valley. Early industries in the area included agriculture, logging, and milling, which played foundational roles in the development of the county.

Linn County is home to multiple historic covered bridges, which were essential transportation infrastructures for communities in the 20th century. In recent years, many of these iconic covered bridges have been restored and preserved for future generations.
