Lehigh County is located in the eastern part of the great state of Pennsylvania, in the United States. Established on March 6th, 1812, the county was formed from parts of Northampton County. It was named after the Lehigh River, which runs through it. The county seat is Allentown, which is Pennsylvania's third largest city.

The area, rich in natural resources like limestone, coal, and iron, played a vital role in the growth of the U.S. industrial revolution during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Lehigh County was at the heart of iron production and the cement industry, significantly contributing to the nation's economy. The county saw an influx of German immigrants in the 18th and 19th centuries, which strongly influenced its culture and traditions.

A fun fact about Lehigh County is that the Liberty Bell, an iconic symbol of American independence, was hidden and protected in Allentown during the Revolutionary War. When the British were about to capture Philadelphia in 1777, the bell was moved from Independence Hall to Allentown, where it was kept hidden under the floorboards of the Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ. This event is considered a significant moment in the county's history and is commemorated every year during the Liberty Bell Museum's "Patriots Day" celebration.
