Walworth County, located in the great state of Wisconsin, was established on December 7, 1836, as part of the Wisconsin Territory. The county is named after Reuben H. Walworth, a prominent New York jurist, and prior Chancellor of New York. It can be found in the southeastern part of the state, stretching over an area of about 577 square miles.

During the 1800s, Walworth County experienced rapid growth due to its rich, fertile farmland which attracted settlers from the east, mainly from New York and the New England area. Agriculture became the backbone of the region's economy, with major crops including wheat, corn, and oats. The county also supported numerous small-scale manufacturing enterprises, such as milling and the making of farming implements.

One of the most significant events in the county's history is the formation of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, established in 1868. The institution originated as the Whitewater Normal School and eventually grew to be an influential factor in the educational, cultural, and economic growth of the region.

A fun fact about Walworth County is the existence of the Alpine Valley Resort, a popular year-round vacation destination. It boasts the largest ski area in southern Wisconsin and hosts popular music concerts as well. Some of the most renowned artists in the industry, like The Grateful Dead and Pearl Jam, have performed at the resort's Alpine Valley Music Theatre.
