Lincoln County is located in the great state of Arkansas, in the southeastern region of the United States. Established on March 28, 1871, Lincoln County was formed from parts of Arkansas, Bradley, Desha, Drew, and Jefferson counties. The county was named in honor of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, who served from 1861 to 1865.

The county seat of Lincoln County is Star City, which was founded in 1878. In its early days, the county's economy heavily relied on agriculture, with cotton being the primary cash crop. Timber and rice farming also served as significant sources of income for the region.

In the post-Civil War period, the railroad industry contributed to the growth of the county. The Pine Bluff and Swan Lake Railroad Company connected Lincoln County to other regions in the Arkansas Delta, fostering economic development and expanding the transportation network.

A fun fact about Lincoln County is that it is home to the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources, which showcases the natural resources and agricultural heritage of the area, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's past. This museum features exhibits on the history of the state's oil production and the development of the early 20th-century boomtowns in the region.

Today, Lincoln County continues to thrive as an agricultural hub, with soybean and rice farming playing a significant role in the local economy. The county is also known for its beautiful natural landscapes and outdoor recreational offerings, such as Cane Creek State Park, Bayou Bartholomew, and various hunting and fishing opportunities.
