Logan County, located in the great state of Arkansas, was originally formed on March 22, 1871. It was initially a part of Scott County but was later divided into two separate counties named after James Logan, an early settler of the region and California gold rush pioneer. The county is split into two judicial districts, with the northern district having its county seat in Paris, and the southern district having its seat in Booneville.

This region of Arkansas features rolling hills and fertile farmlands, with the Petit Jean River flowing through the southern part of the county. Logging, agriculture, and coal mining have been major industries throughout the county's history. The rich agricultural land and abundant resources have played a significant role in shaping the local economy and communities.

One fun fact about Logan County is that the county courthouse located in Paris is known for its unique architectural style. Built in 1908, the building features Romanesque Revival and Gothic Revival influences, making it one of the most visually striking courthouses in Arkansas.
