The Delaware State Flower

Delaware State Flower
Peach blossom

The Peach blossom, the Delaware state flower, is a beautiful and unique flower that was adopted as the official state flower in 1895. It is a small, delicate flower found in the wild in the eastern United States, from Virginia to Georgia and north to Pennsylvania. The Peach blossom is a member of the rose family and blooms in the springtime with five petals in shades of white, pink, and red. Its colors are reminiscent of the peach fruit, hence the name. Its petals are very thin and can almost seem translucent. The Peach blossom has come to represent the beauty and uniqueness of the state of Delaware. It was chosen as the official state flower by an act of the legislature, in 1895, and has been the state flower ever since.
