Bulloch County is located in the southeastern region of the great state of Georgia. Established on February 8, 1796, the county was named after Archibald Bulloch, a prominent Georgian politician, Revolutionary War soldier, and Georgia's first Provisional Governor. The county's initial development was driven primarily by agriculture-based industries, particularly cotton production.

In the early 20th century, the establishment of Georgia State Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University) in Statesboro, the largest city and county seat, led to the growth of education and research-related industries. It also turned Statesboro into a regional center for academia and business.

A fun fact about Bulloch County is that the Blind Willie McTell Trails, dedicated to the famous blues musician who was born in the area, can be found here. The trails offer a self-guided tour that showcases several notable cultural landmarks related to McTell's life and career, representing both his significance and the vibrant musical culture that thrives in the region.
