Randolph County is a county located in the great state of Georgia in the United States. Established on December 20, 1828, Randolph County was created from a portion of Lee County and is named in honor of John Randolph of Roanoke, a notable Virginia politician and influential member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Randolph County is part of the Albany, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses several nearby counties, including Dougherty, Terrell, and Worth. The county seat is the city of Cuthbert, which was founded in 1831 and later incorporated in 1834.

During the early 19th century, Randolph County experienced significant growth, primarily due to the development of the cotton industry. Plantations thrived in the region, and the economy was heavily reliant on slave labor. After the Civil War and the abolition of slavery, the economy shifted to sharecropping and other agricultural pursuits. The county's population and economic activity declined somewhat during the 20th century, as urbanization and industrialization in other regions of Georgia drew people away from rural areas like Randolph County.

One fun fact about Randolph County is that the county is home to Andrew College, a small private liberal arts college in Cuthbert. Established in 1854, Andrew College is one of the oldest colleges in Georgia and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
