Turner County is located in the southern part of the great state of Georgia, USA. Established on August 18, 1905, Turner County was created from parts of Dooly, Irwin, Wilcox, and Worth counties. The county is named in honor of Captain Henry Gray Turner, a prominent Georgia lawyer, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Georgia State Supreme Court justice.

The county seat is located in Ashburn, which also happens to be the largest city in Turner County. Other cities and towns in the county include Sycamore and Rebecca. Turner County has a rich agricultural history, with cotton farming being a major contributor to its economy during the early 20th century.

A fun fact about Turner County is that it is home to the Crime and Punishment Museum and Last Meal Caf in Ashburn. This unique museum, housed in a former jail, offers guests a chance to explore Georgia's crime history and even sample "last meals" similar to those served on death row.
