Warren County is located in the great state of Georgia, USA. It was founded on December 19, 1793, and named in honor of General Joseph Warren, an American Revolutionary War hero. The county seat is Warrenton, which was officially incorporated as a town in 1810. The county is part of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which consists of 13 counties in Georgia and five in South Carolina.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Warren County thrived on agriculture, primarily growing cotton. The arrival of the Georgia Railroad in 1835 helped to facilitate trade and communication, further contributing to the growth of the region. Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, located in North Georgia, is another significant geographical feature in the area, providing abundant natural resources and recreational activities.

The courthouse was designed by Enoch William Brown, a prominent Georgia architect, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building features a beautiful blend of architectural styles, predominantly Victorian, Romanesque Revival, and Second Empire styles.
