Pulaski County is located in the northwestern part of the great state of Indiana, United States. It was established on February 7, 1835, and named in honor of the Polish-American Revolutionary War hero, General Casimir Pulaski. The county seat is Winamac, and the county is a part of Indiana's 20th congressional district.

The area was originally inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Potawatomi and Miami tribes, before European settlers began to arrive in the early 19th century. In 1832, the Treaty of Tippecanoe led to the removal of the Potawatomi people, clearing the way for further European-American settlement.

Much of Pulaski County's early growth can be attributed to the arrival of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne, and Chicago Railroads in the 1850s, which provided improved transportation and economic opportunities to the region. Primarily an agricultural region, Pulaski County's economy was driven by farming, with corn, wheat, and livestock being the predominant products. To this day, agriculture remains an integral part of the county's identity and economy.

One fun fact about Pulaski County is its annual event, the Pulaski County Fair. This popular week-long event, which dates back to the early 1900s, showcases various displays related to the county's rich agricultural heritage, along with live entertainment, carnival rides, and other activities, attracting visitors from across the state and beyond.
