Robertson County, located in the great state of Kentucky, was founded on February 11, 1867. It is named after George Robertson, a distinguished Kentuckian who held multiple public offices, including Chief Justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals and United States Congressman. The county was created from portions of four neighboring counties: Bracken, Harrison, Nicholas, and Mason. The region has a rich agricultural history, with farming being its dominant industry throughout its existence.

The county seat and largest city in Robertson County is Mount Olivet. The region has deep connections to the American Civil War, with both Confederate and Union forces having occupied the county at different times during the conflict.

One fun fact about this region is the annual 'Tobacco Festival' held in Mount Olivet. The event, which began in 1952, celebrates the county's rich tobacco farming heritage with activities such as a tobacco plant sale, a tobacco stripping contest, and the Tobacco Festival Queen Pageant. It's a unique, culturally significant event that showcases the importance of the agricultural industry in Robertson County's history.
