Trimble County is located in the north central part of the state of Kentucky, along the Ohio River. Established on February 9, 1837, it was named in honor of Robert Trimble, a notable Kentucky jurist and Supreme Court justice. The county has a total area of 152 square miles, with Bedford serving as the county seat.

Initially, the land was occupied by various Native American tribes who hunted the vast forests and used the fertile soil for their crops. European-American settlers didn't begin to arrive until the late 1700s and early 1800s. The region flourished primarily due to agriculture, with tobacco and corn being two of the main crops.

The economy of Trimble County has evolved over time, going through several transitions from agricultural to industrial. Today, several manufacturers are based in the county, offering diverse job opportunities to its residents.

One fun fact about Trimble County is that it hosts the annual Trimble County Apple Festival, an event celebrating the local community and showcasing the best of the region's food, arts, crafts, and entertainment. The festival, held in September in the city of Bedford, attracts visitors from near and far for a fun-filled weekend.
