Albany is a village in Stearns County, Minnesota with a population of around 2,800 people. The village was founded in the 1860s and was named after Albany, New York. Albany has a rich agricultural history and is known for its dairy farms, particularly its cheese production. The village is also home to Lake Wobegon Trail, a popular recreational trail for biking, hiking, and snowmobiling. Albany hosts an annual Albany Pioneer Days celebration in July, featuring parades, music, and other festivities.
