Nash County is a county located in the great state of North Carolina, USA. Established in 1777, it was formed from the larger Edgecombe County during the early years of the United States. Named in honor of General Francis Nash, an American Revolutionary War hero, the county has a profound historical significance. The county seat of Nash County is Nashville, which was established in 1780 and officially incorporated in 1815.
