Belknap County is located in the beautiful state of New Hampshire within the United States of America. Established in 1840, it was named after Dr. Jeremy Belknap, a renowned clergyman, historian, and the author of the first history of New Hampshire. The county formation resulted from parts of the Strafford and Merrimack counties as a means of accommodating the growing population in the 19th century.

Belknap County spans an area of 469 square miles and, as of the 2020 Census, has a population of around 64,000 people. The county seat is Laconia, a city renowned for its stunning lakes, the largest of which is Lake Winnipesaukee.
