Warren County is located in the northeastern part of the great state of New York, within the boundaries of what's commonly referred to as the Adirondack Region. Encompassing the western banks of the majestic Lake George and the Hudson River, Warren County was established on March 12, 1813, after being separated from Washington County. It was named in honor of General Joseph Warren, a prominent figure in the American Revolutionary War.

The history of Warren County is marked by its participation and development throughout several pivotal periods. Before European settlement, this area was originally inhabited by Native American tribes, primarily the Iroquois and Algonquins. Later, during the colonial period, the county played a key role in the French and Indian War due to its strategic location between British colonies and the French-held Quebec.

The American Revolution saw the people of Warren County supporting and aiding the cause of American independence. Subsequently, in the 19th century, it turned into a hub for logging and sawmills, profiting from the rich timber resources of the Adirondack forests. The arrival of the railroad in 1871 further boosted the county's economic growth, leading to the establishment of thriving industries, including tourism.

A fun fact about Warren County is that it's home to the annual Lake George Winter Carnival, which has been held every weekend in February since 1961. The winter fest includes numerous events and activities, such as ice diving demonstrations, bonfires, fireworks, parades, and various winter sports, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
