.Adams County, located in the great state of Pennsylvania, was created on January 22, 1800, and named in honor of the second U.S. President, John Adams. The county is situated in the southern part of the state and has an area of approximately 521 square miles. Adams County is best known for the historic borough of Gettysburg, which was established in 1786 by Samuel Gettys. The county's population is currently estimated to be around 103,000 residents.
The most significant event in Adams County's history is the Battle of Gettysburg, which took place from July 1 to July 3, 1863.
