Randall County, located in the great state of Texas, was officially established on August 21, 1876, and organized on July 27, 1889. This county is situated in the Texas Panhandle region and is named after Horace Randal, a Confederate brigadier general during the American Civil War. The spelling of the county name was later changed to Randall.

The county witnessed significant growth in the late 19th century with the expansion of the railway system. Specifically, the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway came to Canyon, the county seat, which facilitated significant development.

Randall County is known for its picturesque landscapes, and its geography is predominantly flat, featuring occasional hills and beautiful canyons. Palo Duro Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the United States, cuts through the county and is the main highlight of the area, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

A fun fact about Randall County is that it was once home to the prehistoric Folsom Culture which dates back to around 10,000 years ago. This culture was characterized by its distinct stone tools and hunting techniques.
