Millard County, located in the great state of Utah, was created in 1851 as a part of the Utah Territory, and later, it was officially founded on October 4, 1852. Named in honor of Millard Fillmore, the 13th President of the United States, the county occupies a land area of 6,828 square miles in the west-central part of Utah. Fillmore, the county seat, was initially intended to replace Salt Lake City as the capital of Utah Territory, but this intention was never realized.

Historically, Millard County has been vital for farming and livestock, with industries focusing on agriculture and sheep and cattle ranching. The mining of gold, silver, and other minerals has also been an integral part of the county's economy.

One fun fact about this region is that it is home to a unique natural attraction: the Great Stone Face, also known as the Sentinels. Located in the Pahvant Mountain Range, this geological formation features a natural limestone outcrop resembling a human face, which has fascinated visitors and residents alike for generations.
