Price County is a picturesque and historically rich region located in the northern part of Wisconsin, USA. Established in 1879 and named after William T. Price, a lumber businessman and politician, Price County covers an area of approximately 1,278 square miles. The county seat is located in Phillips, which is the most populated city in the county.

Initially, Price County was dominated by dense forests and waterways, which attracted logging and lumber companies to the area. The lumber industry thrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, utilizing the waterways to transport logs from the forests to various sawmills. Along with logging and milling, the area also experienced growth in the agriculture and dairy farming sectors.

As the county grew, several small towns and communities were established to support the growing economy. Today, Price County and its cities boast many facilities including schools, hospitals, parks, and recreational centers.

One fun fact about Price County is that it is home to Wisconsin's largest tree, a magnificent Eastern White Pine located near the town of Park Falls. This gargantuan tree has a circumference of over 14 feet and stands at approximately 130 feet tall, recognized as a true symbol of the area's rich forestry history.
