Simply the best. We had a excellent experience working with Matt Valvano throughout a long and difficult sale of a family estate house. Matt got a lot more money for the house than we imagined possible, and he MADE that happen, not just with bringing in over thirty offers, but by helping us make smart decisions about what to do, what not to do, and how to navigate a myriad of requirements thoughout the sale process. When we needed contractors, Matt had multiple great recommendations. We had emergency issues with our boiler, and Matt got someone there who quickly and inexpensively resolved the issue. Where do I start, lets do it at the beginning. Contacted Matthew after researching the best Realtors in the area, he was number one in the list and I always contacted him and the second listed. Matthew from the begging was straight forward unlike the other realtors that were telling me what I want it to hear. Matt was incredibly patient and responsive. We were looking during the pandemic, which was stressful, but Matt was extremely careful about precautions like wearing masks, gloves, and booties, maintaining a safe distance, and limiting the number of people permitted on any visit. He was also super knowledgeable - there were many things that I'd never seen before as we walked through the house, and he could explain what each thing was and how it worked (including pretty much every pipe and valve in the utility rooms). This was our first interaction with Matt Valvano as our realtor. We were moving from our apartment in the Bronxville/Yonkers area up north to the suburbs of Westchester. My pregnant wife and I were completely overwhelmed. We did not know where, what kind of house, what amount of taxes, or what school districts were good. Thank God for Matt. Matt showed my wife almost 60 houses. Yes, 60 houses. Matt and my wife would go out during the week after their already hectic days. After that Matt took the time and showed me about 20 of the best houses, which were deemed worthy, during the weekends when I was not working so that I was able to see them first hand. He had patience with us as our wants changed (hence the 60 houses) and with me as I was looking for a bargain. Matt would tell me when I was pushing too much, and when it was right for me to try to low-ball an offer. In the end, Matt found us a house. It was perfect. My wife and I got in the car after our walk-through with Matt, we looked at each other and said "I love it" to each other. Matt helped get the price we wanted, and assisted in getting cleaners in before hand. He even helped me get all the right checks together so that the closing went smoothly. He pushed us to the correct neighborhood (lots of kids, my wife was pregnant at the time) and the right school district (we love yorktown). When we started, all we knew was that we wanted to live somewhere in westchester county. Matt was instrumental in narrowing down our wants and needs and helped us find the perfect house. I could not have asked for a better agent! This was my first experience with selling a property and Matt guided me through the entire experience. There was interest in the property as soon as it hit the market in part due to the beautiful listing and photos that were done and the spot on pricing.
