This was an extraordinarily poor experience in the purchase of a home, but I got a wonderful place out of it, so hopefully it will just continue to get better. I was the buyer in a dual agent situation. In my opinion my relator Lavonne was never working for me, I was just funding the transaction between the seller and Lavonne. I'd say that 90% of our overall communication was miscommunication. This is the 3rd home I have purchased, so I am not new to the game, but nothing (literally) was explained to me in what I was signing. Lavonne even told me that I should get a lawyer to explain these documents to me (instead of her doing her job and explaining what I was signing herself). Even at the title company in the signing transaction, she sat in with the buyers while they were signing their documents, but didn't bother to even say hello to me in the other room. She had me get ahold of the persons who needed to come do things on the property, even had me pay for an item (granted for my future benefit) prior to me actually purchasing the property. Also kept asking me if I wanted to purchase large pieces of machinery located at the house after I blatantly told her that I had no use for them and would never buy them. She couldn't keep clear who had said what, and even forgot to send me some paperwork signed by the seller until I asked about it several weeks later. She also shared items that the seller said that I should not have been privy to, and I am guessing that she did the same thing to me by telling the seller things that they should not know. A warrantee was included with the home, and I was told by Lavonne that I would be able to purchase a home water softener through the warrantee company, but low and behold that is not an option in the warrantee. It was just an outright bad situation. I was not assisted in my purchase by Lavonne, who was the person that was supposed to be looking out for me in this transaction. It seems like she wants everyone else to do her job for her, and is unwilling to do it herself. I was displeased by the situation, but didn't think I could get someone else to take over representing me and definitely didn't want to loose out on this house. Find someone else! Do not go with her! It was unfortunate for me to have had her be the only realtor that called me back in my search for a realtor to help me. If I sell this place in a few years I will definitely have her card in front of me so I know who not to call to help me out! The one positive is that I wouldn't have gotten to see this place until after it was on the market if I went with another agent (as Lavonne was the sellers agent), and it may have had a purchase agreement happen before I could send mine in. Lavonne provided lots of personal help in the whole move process. She is personable and fun. Her years of experience proved helpful. Wed definitely recommend her for a home sale.
