I am a disabled Veteran and when the VA finally decided to send me some back pay I was able to think about buying a home in Florida so that my wife and I could spend the Winter in a warmer climate. After looking for quite awhile we found the home where we now live listed by Margaret Zahner. From the outset she was impossible to contact even when I told her office that I wanted to buy a house. And once we decided to make an offer which was accepted it was like pulling teeth to communicate with her. She has an assistant who really does all the work. She has plenty of excuses as to why she can't respond to phone messages or emails but none of them hold water. She's been in the area all of her life and in this small tight knit community people continue to do business with her just because their friend or neighbor did. In any event she was there when we were there with the home inspection service and during that visit my wife asked about the floor in the dining area which seemed to be "squishy". Margaret said that it was nothing to worry about and we let it pass. Furthermore the home inspectors, as we later found out, did not do a complete job which has cost us quite a lot of money. Now we have discovered that the floor was "squishy" because some joists are broken! Needless to say we plan to initiate legal action against her and the inspection service as well as the Coldwell Banker agency. We would highly recommend to be wary if you are thinking of doing business with this person.

I was selling my home and kept getting all these form letters from this woman. I finally called her as I thought her persistence was a positive sign. I told her that I would consider her as I had 2 properties I was selling, buying 2 more plus a commercial property. I told her I would like to meet with her and discuss and I would like to give my business to a local realtor. I had her get her calendar and she told me that Friday her day was clear. I then let her pick the restaurant of her choosing in St. Augustine as she wanted to see my ocean front beach condo that I was selling. We made plans to meet at Longhorns Steakhouse at 1pm on Friday as I had a cat scan at 11am that morning. At 12:30 I sent her a text.

Her: Who is this?? (My name was shown so she knew it was me)
Me: Elaina
Her:I thought we were getting together next Friday??
Me: No this Friday
Her: I am at a funeral.
Me: We went over our schedules for THIS WEEK. I told you I had a cat scan and could meet you after. I have never heard from her again. NO apology...nothing...Most unprofessional as if this were me I would have called immediately and tried to make amends not to loose the business...Her...nothing, no I'm sorry I messed up...no can we reschedule...So mush for trying to give a lot of business to a small local realtor.
I would NOT recommend this woman at all.

I chose Margaret Zahner because of her reputation. Well, she did not disappoint at all! Margaret is a professional, knowledgeable business woman. I was thrilled that she sold my house in less than a week!! The pictures and presentation were magnificent! Thank you, Margaret Zahner.
