We are so impressed with Derrick Martin from the Judy Kunzman team. Over the years, we have bought and sold several homes. Without a doubt, Derrick is one of the best realtors we've ever worked with. We are moving to Tyler from out of town and needed someone to be our "boots on the ground" in Tyler. Derrick was that for us. When he toured houses, he made great detail-oriented videos for us. He remembered specific things we wanted to know about and included those details in the videos. He took measurements of rooms for us which was so incredibly helpful. Derrick has a great eye for detail and called our attention to things (positive and negative) that he knew would be meaningful for us. We were extremely disappointed with the Kunzman team. They came out as a team to look at the house and sign us up. Sent a good photographer to take photos. And from there it went downhill. They posted the place on Facebook a couple of times. They do not have a huge reach so that did not do much for us.
Our reason for selling the house was we had to move overseas as my mother was in extremely poor health. About three months into the contract, my mother deteriorated to the point where it looked like she was going to die before we could sell and move. So we decided to rent. We contacted property managers and found one who said they would be willing to work with the Kunzmans selling the property at a later date. The Kunzmans were not willing to work with this beyond allowing the property to rent month to month, which would have cost more than it was worth. And likely not get a tenant with those terms anyway. So we had to leave the property vacant and move overseas to be with my mother.
With the house vacant they rarely came to check on it. We had cameras still in place. And when the contract finally ran out we got a new agent. When she came to inspect the place she found it to be extremely dirty. On leaving, we had had the house professionally cleaned, but someone viewing the home had pooped all over one of the toilets. And another toilet was not much better.
Lights had been left on as had the AC and we had been paying more for our power bills than we should have. We are already paying rent plus mortgage and utilities on two homes.
Also the neighbours goats had gotten out without their knowledge and pooped all over the back deck. And the deck had clearly been in that state for a while when the new agent found it that way. (Neighbours were quick to power wash it as soon as they had been told).
The only work this team does is the work needed to sign you up. Cannot recommend. 2023

Yes, I'm taking the time to write this review because my partner and I fell in love with Mr. Martin. Derrick was exceedingly patient, willing, kind, and funny -- all wonderful sales attributes, in my opinion. Perhaps most significantly, Derrick was NOT the prototypical plastic sales automaton -- you know the kind...fake, insincere, pushy, etc. So, I suppose if you prefer to work with a realtor who makes it obvious that s/he is waiting on their commission and is therefore trying to hurry you through the process, well, Derrick is not your man. 2017
