In the last 5 years I have had 9 real estate transactions, this by far exceeds the worse of any others. Rather than rant extensively, here are the cliff notes of the closeout of the deal which accurately represents how the entirety of the transaction transpired. I closed on a NY home and spent 2 weeks of my own time back'n'forth with sellers agent trying to get a key for a house that I owned. I have never closed on a home and not had access to that home post closing. The Scott Varley Team was the buyers agent (my agent) and should have cared for this simple and basic element of a real estate transaction. In the last week of transacting I requested an allowance that was clearly available to the buyer (me) as per the contract due to a seller added language/clause. The Scott Varley Team (SVT) chose to quote boiler plate language from NY State real estate contracts to deny my request as not allowable. I had to actually physically cut & paste the contract language that the seller's agent added that supported my request. Even after that was provided the SVT did not work in my behalf to execute the request. I had to turn to an attorney to execute the completely allowable and justifiable request as I was refused by the SVT. Scott Varley was copied on several email correspondences earlier in the process requesting his engagement, as the process was not proceeding in a beneficial manner early on, and required an escalation to his level of involvement. However, I did not get engagement or acknowledgement till I called him directly to make the same request and even then he had no clue as to what was happening due to not examining the email correspondence he was copied on to any level of seriousness. Overly poor performance all around in supporting this contract from beginning to end. I could write a lengthy list of failed performance events on this contract but suffice to say that this was a terrible experience and I feel they as a team give the impression of mass producers that are only interested in pushing deals through quickly for the pay check without much, if any, customer service needs being considered. I have other real estate transactions to execute in upstate NY and I have had the beneficial experience of knowing whom I shall not be utilizing for those transactions. 2022
