We interviewed two different realtors when we decided to sell our house. One promised a lower commission, which intrigued me, and the other was Aaron. Aaron was actually the listing agent for our house when we originally bought it, and I remember how our realtor at that time had mentioned how great Aaron was to work with. I had a bad experience with another relator when I sold a different house, and it made me question the worth of a listing realtor and I felt like the lower I could get the listing fee, the better off I would be; boy was I wrong! The other realtor promising a 4% listing fee told me what she would list the house at, and then Aaron came in and told me that was way too low. He recommended that we list it for $15,000 more than what the other realtor said. Aaron was local and knew our marketplace well. I learned through this process how important it is to have a realtor who knows your market. We also had a much better relationship with Aaron and we felt more comfortable with him. Even though Aaron was a higher commission, we decided to go with him because we would still pocket more going with Aaron than using the other realtor who obviously didn't know our marketplace well and was going to sell it for a lot less than what it was worth. We listed the house right when COVID-19 hit and everyone started sheltering in place. This concerned us and made us think it would take a while to sell. Within 6 days, our house was under contract for full price (a full $15,000 more than what the other discount realtor recommended). Aaron did a great job getting multiple offers on the table and getting us full price. We had some hiccups along the way with the buyer, and he did a great job explaining everything and communicating with the buyer's agent and us. Even through the hiccups and a global pandemic, we still were closed by 36 days. Not only did Aaron get us a full price offer, but he and Tori (his assistant) helped us sell a lot of our furniture. This was helpful because we had already moved 500 miles away and without their assistance, we would not have been able to get everything sold and picked up. Overall, it was a great experience and I was more than happy to pay him a higher commission because of the great value he brought. If you choose to use Aaron to be your agent, you won't be disappointed! 2020
