Georgia State Motto: Wisdom, Justice, Moderation
Front of the US quarter dollar coin   Georgia State Quarter

The Georgia state quarter was created in 2003 as part of the United States Mint's 50 State Quarters Program. The front of the quarter features an image of the state seal of Georgia, which includes a man holding a sword and a woman holding a spear standing in front of an arch with the words "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation" inscribed on it. The back of the quarter features a live oak tree with the state's official motto, "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation," inscribed on it. The symbols and meanings behind the design of the Georgia quarter are as follows:

-The live oak tree symbolizes Georgia's strength and resilience.

-The man and woman holding the sword and spear represent the state's commitment to justice and peace.

-The arch with the words "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation" inscribed on it is a reminder of the state's commitment to these values.

-The motto "Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation" is a reminder of Georgia's dedication to these qualities.

The second Georgia State Quarter

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program was introduced by the United States Mint in 2010. The program honors 56 different national parks and other national sites throughout the United States, its territories, and the District of Columbia with a series of 56 distinctive quarters. The Georgia National Park quarter, released in 2021, is the 46th release in the program.

The reverse of the Georgia quarter features the depiction of a young girl, representing the Creek people, holding a fish from the Chattahoochee River. The fish symbolizes the importance of the river to the Creek people, who used it for fishing, trading, and transportation. The background features a view of the Tallulah Gorge, which is part of the Tallulah Gorge State Park, along with a bald eagle in flight.

The obverse of the Georgia quarter features the portrait of George Washington, which has been a part of the quarter series since 1932. The inscription around the portrait reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "QUARTER DOLLAR." The text "GEORGIA" and the year of issue, 2021, also appear on the obverse.
