Originally from Monticello, Indiana, I am a midwesterner through and through. I attended Purdue University where I majored in Psychology and Pre-law. I moved to the Dubuque area in 2003 and have stayed put since. I love this area so much because there is so much to do, its a great community and the people here make it a wonderful place to live.
My past experience of owning and operating successful businesses has allowed me to master a variety of skill sets that have been invaluable to my current real estate business. While running two local Jimmy John's franchises in the Dubuque area I was responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring hundreds of employees and what I learned in the process is I love working with others. I thoroughly enjoy building lasting relationships with those in the community. This was even more evident when I ran a Neuromuscular Therapy center for over 20 years. I found developing relationships with my clients and helping them manage their pain and injuries to be rewarding and fulfilling. Ive come to realize that no matter what career I choose for myself, the most rewarding piece has been building strong, respectful relationships.
These dynamic careers have helped me build on my capacity to handle all types of situations with a calm demeanor. Much like real estate, each day held different tasks, there was never a dull moment! I also learned to lead by example and to motivate, coach, and empower my employees. I found it important then and now to show my colleagues and clients how much I valued their work and business and make it a point to continue to conduct business in this fashion.
The transition into real estate was an easy decision for me to make, I knew that I could run successful businesses and wanted to continue helping others in the community. My desire to help make difficult decisions easier for people is true in this industry as well. As we know, purchasing real estate is not for the faint of heart, it can be overwhelming even at the best of times! But thats where I come in. When making large purchase decisions, whether youre buying your first home or starting an investment portfolio you want someone who is reliable, knowledgeable, and can make the process as seamless as possible. This is what I offer my buyer and seller clients.
My goals and ambition dont only inhabit my professional life, I have big personal aspirations as well. I am an avid marathon runner and even enjoy (most of the time) running during the beautiful yet bitter Iowa winters. Ive completed dozens of races, and hope to run a race in every state!
I am also an active member of the Dubuque Rotary which helps me keep my finger on the pulse of what is happening in our local community.
And lastly but most importantly, I am a wife and mother of four kids and four dogs.
