Dorota Allen was born in Krosno, Poland, and emigrated to the United States more than 20 years ago to make a better life for her family.
Dorota has always been a strong believer in education and self-improvement. She earned her Bachelor of Marketing and Management degree in Poland from Economic University. She continued her education in the U.S. and was awarded a Masters Degree in Science from Purdue University.
Dorota worked with various social services agencies in Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland helping needy residents. She studied Psychology and Sociology and dedicated her professional career to connecting clients to necessary community services such as health education. She coached clients to learn healthy behaviors and taught important skills like money management, medication management, and applying positive reinforcement to improve personal and mental health.
This knowledge, coupled with her academic and social work, has helped Dorota to acquire valuable people-oriented and task-focused skills she can apply daily in real estate. As a Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate team member, she strives to educate home buyers and sellers to painlessly guide them through the complex sales process, applying her negotiating skills to best serve client considerations and interests. She is a patient listener who seeks to understand client needs and assist them in making home buying or selling a smooth, stress-free process. She is a determined, hard-working sales representative who knows that she does well when her clients are satisfied.
Dorota has been passionate about real estate since arriving in the U.S. She always knew that she wanted to help others and found her calling in real estate. She learned how the real estate market works by buying foreclosed homes and renovating and reselling those properties. In her future real estate endeavors, Dorota hopes to help real estate clients to relocate to sunnier climates, assist investors seeking to tap into the local real estate market, and guide home buyers to find their perfect home. Close to her heart is to help the Veterans in finding homes and connect those in need with available community services such as rent assistance to eligible Veterans and mental health services.
Dorota enjoys spending time with her two teenage sons. She enjoys cooking Polish food, restoring old furniture, and painting. She likes bike riding, traveling, and soaking up the sun at the nearby Miller Beach. She relishes family vacations to Floridas coasts. Dorota has a great passion for horses. She takes pride in giving back to the community. She volunteered for the therapeutic equine center to help children with disabilities and veterans. She is a world traveler who used to live in Southern Italy near Naples, taking tourists on horseback to Mt. Vesuvius. Dorotas passion for research prepared her to study local real estate markets and seek out the best deals for her clients. She is an active member of the Midwest Sociological Association (MSS), and the Polish American Historical Association (PAHA). After joining the real estate business she became the GNIAR committee member for two teams; The Safety and Diversity Committee.
