Remington is a small village in Jasper County, Indiana, with a population of around 1,200 people. The village was founded in 1860 and was named after Philip Remington, who was an early settler in the area. Remington is home to a few small businesses and shops, including a grocery store and a gas station. The village is surrounded by farmland and is known for its agricultural industry, particularly corn and soybean production. Remington is also the birthplace of the famous American poet James Whitcomb Riley, who was born in a farmhouse just outside of town in 1849.
