I got into the real estate business in 2006 as a way to pay for college, and what started as a small project grew into a passion that I have continued to pursue ever since. My first year in real estate was amazing, Central Florida was experiencing an unprecedented seller's market and homes were selling in record time and buyers were easy to approve. I remember seeing the experienced agents living the dream with large homes, nice cars, and Rolex watches. I also remember 2008 when, what felt like overnight, the party came to a screeching halt, the office I worked at closed, and many people left the business. Luckily for me, I was still in school and living at home with my parents and was able to watch the market do a 180 and avoid the losses that many of my colleagues endured. Experiencing such a wild shift gave me a tremendous perspective not only on the real estate market but the ebbs and flow of working as a full-time Realtor.
