Laurel is a city in the southeastern part of Mississippi and is known as the "City Beautiful." It is the largest city in Jones County and has a population of around 18,500 people. Laurel is home to the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, which displays a wide range of American art, and the Landrum's Homestead and Village, which is a restored 1800's rural community. The city is also known for its rich music heritage and is the birthplace of country music legend Tammy Wynette. Additionally, Laurel is popular for its annual Sertoma Christmas parade, which is one of the largest parades in the state.
