Glacier County is located in the northwestern corner of Montana, bordering Canada to the north. The county spans 4,222 square miles, and has a population of 13,352 as of the 2019 U.S. Census estimates. The population is largely rural, with over half of all residents living in small towns and unincorporated communities.
The majority (67%) of Glacier County's population is Native American, representing seven tribes in the area: Blackfeet Nation, Chippewa-Cree Tribe, Fort Belknap Indian Community, Little Shell Chippewa Tribe, Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation, Salish Kootenai Tribe and the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho. The remaining 33% of the population is primarily white (28%).
