Barbara Tapley and husband Gordon have loved living in the Straus Park neighborhood for the past 15 years. Having served in the past as social chairman, she is now on the Architectural Review committee. Additional involvements are as tournament chairman for the ladies 18-hole golf league at Connestee Falls and as a board member of the Brevard Duplicate Bridge Club.
Barbaras job history included serving as a Legislative Aide to a U.S. Senator and a state Governor, doing research and analysis to develop and write position statements, speeches, and press releases. During her 25 years in the Chicago suburbs raising their family, Barbara had a travel planning business specializing in luxury and adventure experiences. She also became a Realtor there before discovering our sweet Brevard and choosing to relocate here.
Active in golf locally, Barbara also participates in many tournaments throughout the Carolinas with her friends, plus enjoys hiking, bridge, cooking, and travel. Gordon and Barbara have sons, daughters-in-law, and grandsons living in Denver, CO and Scottsdale AZ. In Brevard they have a black lab mix named Jack!
