Chicora, Pennsylvania is home to the only known monument in the world to honor a horse that served during World War I. The monument is dedicated to a horse named Sergeant Reckless who served with the Marine Corps and participated in several campaigns in the Korean War. It was unveiled in Chicora in 2016, 53 years after the horse's death.
