Working hard and taking care of people is just a way of life as far as David Raulston is concerned. And it has always been that way.

David worked his way through college while supporting his family, earning several academic and service honors during his college years. But it was his work ethic and experience that helped him the most during those years.

That was an exhausting time of life, David recalls. School all day, work all night, getting home to hang out with the wife, changing a diaper or two. All in a days work.

After working in customer service and sales for a few years during college, David moved his family to begin graduate work, where he would continue to support his family while earning his Masters Degree. He spent the first few years in sales and customer service, but then transitioned into a different side of the service industry: transportation and logistics.

Working in transportation and logistics can be a character building experience, David explains. Waking up at 2am, moving boxes in the wee hours of the morning can feel like a grind. But when you have a family to support, and an education to pay for, you work through those early hours. You are serving them, and serving your customers. Ensuring that someones package arrives at the time promised is a key priority. Its a part of being honest and having integrity in your business.

After working in the logistics industry, David served as a pastor. In this role, David not only served his congregation, but also the community. David served on the Parks and Recreation Board for the city, as well as the City Planning Commission, working with Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz and other key community leaders. Mayor Montz adds, "While serving the community on the Park Board, Dave showed dedication to the city and always got the job done. Mr. Raulston was a true asset to Tiffin and a community leader." David also served the education community through Junior Achievement.

David adds, Service is one of the primary components for effective pastoral ministry. A pastor must remember that he serves God, and he serves his congregation. Its about putting the needs of others above their own.

This perspective has helped David transition from pastoral ministry to real estate.

Real estate is about service and relationships. If you serve people, if you treat people right, they are going to want to work with you. Its about treating people like you want to be treated.
