My fondest memories growing up were summers visiting my grandparents in Fredericksburg. There was a lot of German spoken around town then and I loved listening to those accents...even though I did not have a clue was they were saying. We spent our youth running around town, hanging out at The Tower Drive-In diner and watching baseball at what it now Marketplatz with my cousins. Those were the days you would leave in the morning and come home for dinner in the evening....packing each day it full of fun and adventure! Having grown up in a military family and moving frequently, it meant a lot to me to share these times with family. This is still the town that looks after one another, has deep traditional roots and good, hardworking people.
After working for 12 years as an RN in critical care nursing, I retired from nursing to stay home and raise my children. Not one to sit still and having just built a new home, I used the sewing talents my mother taught me. I designed and sewed window treatments, bed linens, pillows, etc..turning this into an "accidental" home based business which grew rapidly. In late 1999, we moved our family to Fredericksburg. Again, (not one to sit still) I was hired as a buyer at a local home decor store on Main St. In 2004, I got my real estate license, opened my own home decor store, Abella Home, on Main St. and spent 10 years loving every aspect of retail and real estate. In 2014, I closed my store to concentrate on real estate full time.
Having been involved in the design process for several custom built homes and also owning my own home decor business, I feel my background gives me an edge with staging homes to be sold and assisting in the purchase of homes that may need updating or renovations.
I know this area well, having been involved in the sale or purchase of residential homes, small acreage lots to large ranches.
I love working with people and each opportunity to work with someone is an opportunity to develop a lasting friendship. I believe knowledge, honesty, integrity and good communication skills are essential in every real estate transaction.
