1. The town of Buckley was officially incorporated in 1888 and was named after John Buckley, a local landowner.

2. In 1896, the town of Buckley hosted the first annual Buckley Logging Show, which is now known as the Buckley Old Engine Show.

3. The Weyerhaeuser Company was founded in 1900 by Fred Weyerhaeuser, who purchased 900,000 acres of timberland near the town of Buckley.

4. In June 1921, a fire destroyed much of downtown Buckley. The fire originated from a wooden building on the corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue.

5. During the 1930s, Buckley became known for its mining industry and was a major source for coal and copper mining in the region.

6. In September 1952, the first post office opened in Buckley, located on Main Street.

7. On December 24th, 1956, a major snowstorm hit the town of Buckley, leaving it covered in several feet of snow and resulting in significant damage to property and businesses throughout the area.

8. On July 28th, 1958 the first annual White River Balloon Festival was held in the town of Buckley.

9. In 1962, the world's first "Man-in-Space" program was launched from the nearby Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, Washington.

10. In June 1965, the first-ever White River Marathon began in Buckley and continues to be held every year.
