I grew up in a military family and as a result moved 10 times before I finished high school. I came to Richmond in 1981 and received a Bachelors Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. I later attended the University of Richmond and received my Master Degree from there in 1991. I went into the banking field in 1994 and as a result of acquisitions and mergers I moved my family a total of six times. Thus, as a result of both of my childhood and banking career I have moved a total of 16 times and am thus very familiar with the stresses of moving, making new friends, adapting to new areas, and purchasing a home.

After returning to Richmond my wife and I decided it was time for me to seek a new career, one that didnt require moving again. As I had always enjoyed working directly with people and I admittedly liked watching HGTV, I thought that Real Estate may be the new career field for me. After receiving my Realtors license in 2010 I went to work for Long and Foster for 3 years. In 2013, after finding myself selling several homes all listed by Hometown Realty I decided that maybe I was with the wrong company and switched to Hometown Realty. While Long and Foster is a great company, Hometown Realty is just what the slogan says, Your Hometown Realtor.

While I am not a native Richmonder I have lived here for a total of 22 years. My wife Teresa is native to Richmond having been born at Richmond Memorial Hospital, graduated from Hermitage High School and received her Bachelors Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. As a matter of fact, she sat right next to me at graduation. You might think we were dating then but we werent, even though I had tried very hard to get a date with her for several years. Teresa finally came to her senses four years later in 1989 and we got married in 1992. We have four children together with two attending local colleges/universities. Our daughter will be a 2015 graduate from the University of Richmond and our youngest son will be attending Randolph Macon College in August 2015. Our other two children have, or are attending Virginia Tech and Shenandoah University.
