I grew up in Denver, CO and moved to Cortez in 2011 through a program called Teach For America. I have the amazing opportunity to raise two wonderful children alongside my partner, Megan. I initially taught special education in Shiprock, NM and have a Masters of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. In Shiprock I worked as a college counselor and as the special education coordinator for the school district. Additionally, I taught at San Juan College as an adjunct professor in Farmington, NM. Prior to becoming a real estate broker I worked in behavioral health for children with Autism diagnoses.

The natural beauty of Cortez, its inclusive community and, arguably, the best geographic location in the United States are among the reasons for our decision to remain here.

What better way to share my love and enthusiasm for the area I live in than with real estate.

Currently I am on the Southwest Open School Charter School Board, and volunteer regularly at Battle Rock Charter School. I enjoy crossfit, cycling, camping, and most recently rafting. I also enjoy restoring vintage motorcycles, with my current project being a 74 Honda TL125.

Eric Cheever specializes in large ranch and acreage, subdivision and development, first time home buyers, sellers, remote sellers and buyer representative transactions.
