Frank moved to San Francisco after graduating from the University of Chicago, with a degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. He spent part of his studies in Japan to learn the language and graduated with honors from an intensive language program at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan..

Frank spends his down time training for triathlons, with his partner, family and their French bull dog, often in Dolores Park.
