Our house just closed this past week after a rather unpredictable market this past fall. We were out of area during the sale which made things more difficult. We encountered every kind of market situation but Pat helped us understand and navigate each turn - including finally, multiple offers. Finding a buyer turned out to be the easy part though.

Our house was well maintained but, being over 40 years old, the inspection threw us many challenges. First, a extreme inspector, followed by some unscrupulous contractors. In each case Pat and I teamed up to find decent contractors who simply addressed the REAL issues efficiently. This even included researching the 1977 building code to show what realistically applied to us. This phase could have easily cost us 3-5X more than it did (and I'm not exaggerating.) We did not even have to come back to Portland. Pat handled it all with just my help on the internet and phone. A less experienced realtor would have let this become a real nightmare.

Selling or buying a house can be (OK, usually is) a frustrating and confusing process. Having a highly experienced realtor can make a big difference. It will still be frustrating and confusing but you'll live through it :-) I have bought and sold 6 houses over the years so I know. It's a stressful time and you need a strong partner.
