When we set out to buy our first house, it was scary. After we chose Donna as our buyer's agent, it felt much more manageable.
We were reassured at our first meeting. She had a whole folder prepared with maps of the area, a rundown of the national and local real estate market, and a lot of articles about what to expect throughout the home buying process. She told us what sort of house we realistically could expect to find in our desired area given our budget. She gave us suggestions for a few good local banks and was knowledgeable about the mortgage process.
After showing us just a couple of houses and hearing our feedback, she knew just the type of house we wanted. She was always available for showings and good about giving us her opinion but not pushing us in any direction. We definitely needed a good amount of handholding, but she was patient answering all of our questions, even though some of them were ridiculous in hindsight. She tried hard with both the big and little things. For example, she brought snacks and water with her to every showing.
We saw houses with her that we never would have found on our own and we saw the house that we ended up buying before it even went on the market. When it came time to make an offer and negotiate, she pushed hard for us, but was also realistic about what we could expect. She handled all of the paperwork promptly and accurately. There came a point when we and the seller just couldn't agree, and we were ready to walk away. But Donna was creative and found a solution that everyone could live with.
Donna's relationship with her clients doesn't end at closing. We've had our house for 6 months now, and we still ask her questions about the town and for referrals for local professionals.
