It was an absolute pleasure working with Cricket. He took the time to figure out exactly what we were looking for, had extensive local knowledge, and helped us find the perfect home for the right price. During our search he showed us around the area and acted as our personal tour guide. He knew the ropes of the business, was responsive, and had clear advice, but we never felt pressured. I first saw Ozark Empire Realty's (Cricket) Realtor listing on Realtor.com. His bio made it obvious that he is local to the area and knows it well. I was turned off by the generic, corporate feel of many other Realtor's bios. Did they even write them? Cricket's bio was obviously personally written by him and that was a major factor in helping us decide to call and speak with him.
I did interview a few other Realtors, but chose Ozark Empire Realty based on a combination of our conversation and my research. I was not disappointed. Over the next year, Cricket worked hard keeping a pulse on the market, doing walk-throughs and making offers for us.
Anyone shopping for a home during 2020-2021 knows how insane the market has been. This makes it really tough on the buyers and their Realtor as the market moved quickly and homes were often sold as soon as they were listed.
Ozark Empire Realty helped us through the whole process, and we were able to find the home we were looking for. The main qualities I appreciate from Cricket are:
1. Integrity. Very honest and not at all "salesy." You don't get the sense that Cricket is just trying to get a commission and sell you a house. He will advise you honestly even if it means losing the sale of the house. We interacted with a number of sleazy sellers Realtors during our search, and it was always nice to know Cricket was not one of them.
2. Hard work. Cricket worked hard to find the right house for us, pulling late hours, weekends, and doing his best to be available during an insane market.
3. Communication. I'm not going to say we always got it perfect, but Cricket really tried to understand our needs and fit as many of the requirements as possible.
I would recommend Cricket without reservation. Indeed, I did recommend Cricket to a family member, and they also found a house they are happy with.
When Cricket Skaggs contacted me about the sale of my lake home, he had a plan. He explained clearly to me how it would probably go. He was respectful, knowledgeable about the market and efficient. We knew Cricket from his car sales days. We saw he was aggressive with real estate and wanted to give him a chance. We were not disappointed, Cricket put together a great marketing plan before we even committed to using him.
Cricket knew to sell our home he was going to have to go outside Lebanon to the Lake or St. Robert. Cricket put together a better marketing plan than all other realtors we had tried combined. He literally found the buyer for our home at the Lake as he knew he would. After we moved Cricket even helped take care of the property while it was vacant and even made some minor repairs himself. He went way above the expectations to make the sale and help us out.
Our problem with other realtors was they did not keep us in the loop. This was not a problem with Cricket, even after we moved to Arizona we could call or text him and he responded quickly even with the time difference. When we finally made the sale it would have been midnight Missouri time and he was still working. We didn't expect a reply until morning.
