We met Matt randomly using an app to view an open house and we knew we wanted matt to help us the rest of the way. He came in and didnt try to just sell us a house saying everything is perfect for us and it looks like a house he could see us in. Instead he came in with us and immediately started pointing out flaws everywhere in the house that would have to be fixed and with a pretty good estimate on what it would cost and really put into perspective whats needed in the house and the costs after closing that would go in, and really helped us see what real value the house was, not just being a business man and feeding us positive reinforcement so he can make a sale. With it being our first home we were kind of picky on what we wanted and were looking for but also didnt know what we were looking for and Matt was patient the entire time and helped us the entire way, whether it was us wasting his time checking out houses non stop to working around our busy schedule, to answering our random non stop questions over text and calling us whenever we were over thinking about really anything in this process and put it in the simplest terms so we knew what we were getting into. My family and I moved from California to Connecticut the end of June 2022. We originally had a house we were in escrow on that unexpectedly fell through about a day prior to officially arriving in CT. Not a great start to the next chapter of our lives. Our two week stay with my brother and his family turned into two months due to the housing market being insane, not to mention we were using a VA loan. After feeling like our needs were not being met, our concerns not being heard, and putting in about 14 offers on homes and not coming close to being accepted not to mention almost being pushed to purchase a home we did not love and would have been in financial ruin if we went through with it, we kindly let our previous agent go. It was now down to the wire as we needed a home asap. Our kids were going to be starting school in less than a month and we were back to square one with no agent. I can honestly say working with Matt was the best decision ever. We started the journey some 9 months ago interested in finding our getaway home in Connecticut near a lake. It was a trying ordeal for us as the housing market was insane but Matt was there every step along the way. He worked some insane hours sending us listings, personally going to listings to check them out so we didnt waste a trip from New York if it wasnt what we were looking for based on pictures alone. Some real estate agents are friendly and attentive but Matt is like a member of the family. Through losing out on 5 different places and being outbid Matt was right there in it with us - our disappointment was his as well and luckily he never stopped working to find us a place near a lake. Not only did he find one but we wound up with a beautiful LAKE FRONT house in our desired area and actually under budget in this Market. He has stayed in touch with us long after closing to help us navigate the area and share fun activities we may be interested in for our 3 kids as well as some great tradesmen to work on the house and finish it off to our preferences. That should make you run straight to him for your real estate needs, but I get that won't necessarily be enough from a stranger as you're digging through reviews to find someone to help in such a heavy decision like this (in our case, buying a home together for the first time as a couple) so get ready to take in why he's so incredibly wonderful. His energy is terrific, he makes this potential rollercoaster ride fun while taking every part of it seriously, and he has your back the entire way, speaks with experience and looking at life through a filter that goes way beyond 5 years in this business. To have someone honest, dedicated & tough in all of the right ways when needed is such a secure feeling that we've been lucky to experience. We were looking at options between new rentals and buying as our life has made some adjustments, so when we saw properties we liked, we weren't coming into it certain of which way we would go with the current housing market, and it was so refreshing to meet someone who walked with us along the way as we figured out our situation and what could work for our family without an ounce of pressure. We talked to a few agents previously when we would see a spot, and they were nice, but in hindsight nothing really stood out in those interactions, and honestly I have little experience in this, so I didn't realize how lacking those early conversations had been until we met Matt and got to see someone with passion for their work. Literally the moment we spoke with him, we knew he was who we wanted to go on this journey with. He got a good baseline on our wants/needs, and helped us navigate to what a realistic position would look like for us to get into a place we loved. Pointed us in a direction that gave us awesome options where we met our incredible loan originator who dug deeper there and is the best in our opinion. So much stood out with how he conducts business. From a professional standpoint, his promptness in replying that first day was incredible and not a bit invasive. He does his job efficiently, gets a gauge on what a potential client is searching, and it feels so natural how you figure out if it will be a healthy fit to work together. Literally no ego; we felt super early on that he genuinely wants what's best for other people, is beyond happy to be involved, but the "hard sell" is missing that can leave a bad taste in someone's mouth. I'm more selective with things in life as I age. If I walk into a store, I usually have a good idea of what I want/why I'm there and like to be left alone until I ask for help - which is sometimes a negative on my part because I might need it but someone smothering me shuts me down :) - so there was nothing forced coming from Matt and that just made us feel so comfortable in wanting to work with him before we even met in person. He listens and follows up so quickly on anything he works on. That's huge and a skill that we didn't see with the other three agents, who we had to either chase down for initial information weeks later on how to have them represent us, or who repeatedly cancelled on appointments at the last minute and rarely answered our attempts to communicate. Matt takes pride in his work, shows huge respect to family and has appreciation to be a part of this, takes seriously his role in helping a person through this, and that just made it a joy to do this together on so many levels.
