Jody Aucamp of the Banner Team represented us in the sale of our Potomac home at 11601 Springridge Drive (Carrock). To say the property is unique is not hyperbole. The Potomac high-end home market is dominated by large, well-built but conventional homes and buyers that respond a fairly predictable set of features. Our home was completely rebuilt by Ogden Construction in 1986 to plans developed by architect Thomas Walsman and combines a modern angular exterior with an interior somewhat reminiscent of a ski lodge with extensive post and beam construction, unusually shaped spaces and imaginative use of natural light and the forest surroundings. It has a variety of complex systems including a closed loop deep-well heat exchange geothermal system and museum quality lighting for art and performance. It can be a bit daunting. We knew from the start that success would come with finding exactly the right buyer. At this task Jody and the Banner Team exhibited excellent Buyer insight and patience in getting to right one. They recommended rather bland professional staging that encouraged potential buyers to focus on the house, not what was in it. We had to be dragged into that, but they were right. We could not be more delighted with the family they found to take over Carrock. We knew we could not be completely happy to say goodbye to our home for the past 20 years, but this is as close as it gets.
