My STR journey began after visiting Gulf Shores, AL, for Memorial Day and remembering the childhood fun I had there on weekend vacations many years ago. I quickly identified the opportunity for short-term rentals in the area and sought local expertise. We eventually settled on a single-family and new-construction neighborhood in Orange Beach and began making offers. Candace and Chuck coached me through the entire buying process in south Alabama, where we landed a property within walking distance of the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. My goal is to use the property as both respites from the hustle of the big city and tech work while generating STR income.
