Purchasing a home is A LOT of work. Being a first time home buyer, I was lost. Thankfully I had a realtor on my team that guided me through this life changing event with ease. Communication was immaculate, if I sent an email in the evening, I would have a response first thing in the morning, while I was working night shift, and really saw potential in a property, Rusty made himself available and assessable to ensure that property was on the agenda. Rusty helped me create a list of what I needed to have, wanted to have, and absolutely did NOT want for my home, and as we looked at properties you could see how the list was reevaluated after each. When on site at every property, Rusty was able to help me notice little things that a fresh new home buyer wouldnt notice or appreciate. Some red flags and what some ballpark pricing would be to to address some repairs. He went through what happens after THE house was found, he went to war. Negotiating prices, points, assistance, what to mention and ask from the lender to ensure the best deal was being given and was the most appealing to the seller. I had a list of expenses to expect after the contract was accepted. How much money to put out and for what as far as inspections, and other recommended services such as air duct cleaning, further inspections, bge, insurance, and internet. Rusty provided statistics and education with references on why he recommended certain services, which as a first time home buyer, but more importantly as a parent, I was happy to know that my realtor cared about what Home I ended up settling in. This journey has the potential to be extremely overwhelming, but with the right realtor by your side, it makes it enjoyable and you learn a ton along the way. My husband Dave and I worked with Rusty in both buying a new home and selling our old. Rusty worked with us for over a year in this crazy market. My wife and I decided it was time to move out of our old neighborhood. We started looking in Harford County.
